I am a teacher, historian and researcher working in the intersections of economics and geography. My research interest focuses on the expansion of capitalism in new areas of settlement during the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. My research revisits the process of land appropriation and frontier expansion in Western Canada by analyzing two of the main institutions that organized the production of space in the region: the Dominion Lands Offices and the postal network.
